I remember once reading an essay about how programs’ circuitry aligned with lightsaber meanings? So clearly the purple programs mean I AM TIRED OF THESE MOTHER FUCKING SITHS ON MY MOTHER FUCKING PLANE OF EXISTENCE.

I….. that…..

That actually works.

I can close google now.

That… what?

Okay, I may need to look up this ‘lightsaber colour meanings’ thing, but….

In the extended SW universe, a lightsaber’s power source is usually some kind of gem or raw material that is chosen by the individual Jedi themself. (A Jedi must build their own lightsaber, it’s considered a rite of passage.) The colour of the lightsaber is determined by the colour of the gem- for example, if a Jedi chooses a piece of amethyst as the power source, then the colour of the blade will be purple.

It could be said that people who choose similar colours have similar personality traits; I’m sure the psychology community has already offered real-life arguments and research on this matter, but within the context of building lightsabers, it could just be a piece of material that the character has a strong emotional attachment to. Let’s say they were given something (the gem itself, or something that contained the gem or pieces of it) by someone close to them, and they choose to use that gem/piece of material in their lightsaber. In that case, the colour is not determined by a personality choice. They chose the gem because of the meaning behind the gift. (And so on….)
